Sales Training Ideas - One more idea for selling in a tough economy.

Friday, February 20th 2009 @ 4:46 PM    post viewed 600 times

Okay, previously I gave you some ideas for selling in a tough economy, here's one more: Add a personal touch.

Send out personal notes and make phone calls to customers and prospects. Very few people send out personal notes these days. Send your hand written note in an envelope with a hand written address and no return address. Put a stamp on the envelope, don't use metered mail. Also, don't use standard 8 1/2 x 11 paper or a standard envelope, use note size paper and envelope.

You can pretty much write anything such as, "Thank you for being a customer." "...for your continued business." etc. Send one at a minimum once every 6 months.

Also, make a phone call from time to time just to check in, or simply stop by.

Sales Training Ideas - Do you follow up?

Friday, February 13th 2009 @ 9:23 AM    post viewed 253 times

It's amazing these days how many people don't get back to you. And I'm not talking about prospects or customers, I'm talking about EVERYONE, friends, family, etc.

Okay, well family and close friends usually get back, but it's amazing how many people, who I know aren't avoiding me, take forever to get back in touch. As far as salespeople? Forget it. Rarely do you hear from anyone after the sale.

The good news is, this makes it easier for those of us who are organized and who make a concerted effort to follow up with people. I've found that as people get busier and busier, they miss more. They miss more e-mails and messages, or they plan to get back to someone and then that call or e-mail get buried and forgotten about as mountains of more messages and to-do items come in.

The bottom line: Stand out by getting back to people, responding to people, and following up. If you do that one, not always simple task, you'll be ahead of 95% of all salespeople.

Sales Training - How will you finish?

Monday, February 2nd 2009 @ 10:44 PM    post viewed 326 times

Okay, I've already been sent this by three other people, so I hope you're not seeing this for the millionth time and yet, it's worth seeing over and over again.

Sometimes we lose sight of what we really have going for us. I had a similar post about two months ago, but I think this one might be even better.

The bottom line: Appreciate what you have and remember, you can do anything you set your mind to. You're far ahead of a lot of other people out there. Your life is up to you. Click on the link below...
